Minus the Bear
WEBSITE FOR MINUS THE BEAR

Seattle's Minus the Bear are a band mostly so they can come up with cute titles for their songs. "Get me Naked 2: Electric Boogaloo" is a personal favorite, but "Thanks for the Killer Game of Crisco Twister" is a very close second.

Don Caballero was pulling the cute title shtick a decade ago, but don't tell these emotional lads that. You have to give the kids what they want and the kids want silly song titles. I mean who hasn't gone to a show where some kid with a cocked cap shouts "More silly song names!"

Minus the Bear plays math-rock meets emo meets a pre-pubescent Fugazi. They're all highly skilled musicians and, in particular, their guitar work is extremely complex. It's a shame that, based on their song titles, they are often viewed as a joke band. Because everyone knows there's nothing funny about joke bands. Joke bands blow.
