Ford & Fitzroy
NYC's Ford & Fitzroy are an up-and-coming band comprised of five. They play slightly psych-y and slightly country up-tempo pop that warbles and jangles towards boot-stomping anthems of anguish. Their songs are perhaps best accompanied with a drink of Old Grand-Dad or two, as you pound your fist on the dirty bar and cry out, "Sing it to me, brother." Or maybe that's just how I feel when hearing this band.
The band's off-kilter choruses sound similar to early Modest Mouse, but maybe with even more of a hillbilly bent. I can also definitely hear how fans of Two Gallants (another good boozing band) would be into Ford & Fitzroy. These guys have got some really good guitar jams. Sing it, brother.
