Let's talk about the five best shows happening in LA this week and then if there's time we can talk about whatever you want to talk about, too. We have a wide range of interests beyond music and even have a certified degree in TV/VCR repair.

#1. Death Cab For Cutie - Amoeba Records - Tuesday - March 31st - 2015 A.D.

Not to brag, but I've totally heard of this band. Death Cab play a free show at Amoeba (early) tonight and they'll 99.99999% play a some songs off their new album “Kintsugi," but maybe they'll slip a little something in from “There's Something About Airplanes" for old time's sake but I'm not holding my breath because I want to live, goddamn it. For guaranteed entry to this show, you need to buy their new record at Amoeba that day.

#2. The Music of David Lynch - The Theatre at The Ace - Wednesday - April 1st - 2015 A.D.

The big guns are coming out for this one. Director David Lynch and his weird ass musical aesthetic is being appropriately celebrated tonight at The Ace. Artists performing interpretations of his perfectly twisted hits include Karen O + Sky Ferreira + Wayne Coyne + Moby + Jim James + Zola Jesus + Tennis + more + yes, more even includes Duran Duran.

#3. Mourn - The Echo - Thursday - April 2nd - 2015 A.D.

This is the very first US tour EVER for lo-fi hazy psych gaze band Mourn. But that's to be expected because they're still a bunch of teenagers and they live all the way in Spain. However, their locale or young age certainly didn't stop them from signing to excellent record label Captured Tracks because that's what they so totally 100% just did. See them at The Echo tonight so maybe someday you can say you saw them when.

#4. TV on the Radio - Hollywood Palladium + The Observatory - Fri/Sat - April 3/4 - 2015 A.D.

Two chances to see this great Brooklyn band. According to this music blob, it's pretty much impossible for TV on the Radio to put on anything less than a stellar show because I've been seeing them for years and they've never even come close to sucking. Not even once.

#5. Disappears - The Observatory + The Echo - Sat/Sun - April 5/6 - 2015 A.D.

Disappears are a (mostly) underrated shoegaze band from Chicago that has been slinging the swirling hits for some time. So isn't it about time you jump on their goodness train? C'mon aboard. There's always room for one more and it's never, ever too late.

Thanks for reading all the way to the end, dudes who read all the way to the end.

So what else's going on?
