#1. Cass McCombs - Troubadour - Tuesday - December 2 - 2014 A.D.
Cass McCombs (please enjoy clicking on that eight year band profile) has been slinging the super solid pop weariness for over a decade now. Damn. He’s still got it too. This well-traveled troubadour plays his namesake tonight.
#2. Jonathan Richman - Bootleg - Wednesday - December 3 - 2014 A.D.
You might remember Jonathan Richman as the guy who’s cool cat slacker singing style was copped by James Murphy. You might also remember him as frontman for The Modern Lovers. And if you do, what’s it like being a Baby Boomer anyway. You should go see this dude at Bootleg tonight. He’s straight.
#3. M. Ward - Amoeba - Thursday - December 4 - 2014 A.D.
M. Ward (please enjoy reading that nine year old profile) hasn’t been out and about as much lately but he’s definitely around tonight. He’s playing a free show at Amoeba and oftentimes I prefer going to see good shows that don’t cost any money as I find spending money to be highly overrated. It’s just Him tonight - She couldn’t make it.
#4. Angel Olsen and Kevin Morby - El Rey - Thursday - December 4 - 2014 A.D.
You get two for the low price of one at the El Rey tonight. Angel Olsen makes and sings some of the prettiest music you’ll hear and that bold claim was sent straight from the #heart. Kevin Morby slings the truth seeking pop goodness too. Go ahead and listen to both. I bet you like ‘em. And if you don’t, well, don’t go to this one, man. It's your journey.
#5. Avi Buffalo and Los Angeles Police Department - The Echo - Friday - December 5 - 2014 A.D.
Solid popsters Avi Buffalo and lo-fi sunshine guy Los Angeles Police Department play a pretty catchy one at The Echo. Come for both. Stand long. Regret nothing.
