bristletongue is a good band from Lake County, Illinois that play quiet/loud/slow pretty indie rock.

This is very melodic and often rocks out and you'll be singing along to these solid songs in practically no time at all.

In case you're curious, the band has stated their influences as ranging from Julien Baker to Smashing Pumpkins to some hardcore band I've never heard of. Sounds good!
