((Cut Off Your Hands)) Band Profile and Upcoming Los Angeles Concerts - Oh My Rockness

The four lads in New Zealand's Cut Off Your Hands (formerly Shaky Hands) play infectious power-pop with a hard-scrabbled punk edge. Just think hooks and harmonies, hooks and harmonies. Cut Off Your Hands' rousing drunken choruses take their sonic influence from the jingle-jangle guitar bands of yore like The Smiths and early The Cure meets the harmonies of The Futureheads and the fun spazziness of We Are Wolves and Klaxons.

Things are happening fast for this new band (they just formed in 2006) from the other side of the world. Just months ago they were playing tiny shows, and now thanks to a lot of online and onstage hype, they're playing huge outdoor festivals and most likely sparking intense label bidding wars for the rights to release their debut full-length album. They've recently shared the stage with bands like Deerhoof, Bloc Party, Love is All and The Datsuns.
