((Ed Schrader's Music Beat)) Band Profile and Upcoming Los Angeles Concerts - Oh My Rockness

Ed Schrader's Music Beat

Written by Patrick McNamara

Baltimore’s Ed Schrader’s Music Beat formed some years ago from the mind of one man. His first name is Ed. His last name is Schrader. He sings and plays his drum and it’s pretty punk. Live, he’s got Devlin Rice on bass to bring that extra bounce that gets the party bumping. It's fun lo-fi noise that will probably put you in a better mood if you're not an asshole.

The band have been playing shows for years and I have personally listed so many of them on Oh My Rockness that I couldn’t even give you a reasonable estimate of the number. 20? 100? Probably somewhere in between. During that time, Ed Schrader’s Music Beat have shared the stage with these fine bands: Parquet Courts + Future Islands + Roomrunner + Matmos + A Place to Bury Strangers + I’m just going to have to stop it there otherwise I’ll be listing the good bands that ESMB (short for “Ed Schrader’s Music Beat”) have played with all day and that would make a mockery out of your precious procrastination time.

If you think this band are the right buzz band for you to embrace today, might I be so bold as to suggest you stream their very fun 2014 album “Party Jail?” It was released by Infinity Cat (home to: Diarrhea Planet + JEFF the Brotherhood + Rozwell Kid + Left & Right + more) and it’s thirteen super quick songs of catchy DIY punk goodness. Please note: there are more instruments represented than just one drum and bass. A guitar is also played on it. NOICE.

I’ll tell you what. I’ll work some angles and see if I can scrounge up a stream of the entire album. If I’m successful you will see a digital player hovering right below these words. If you see it, you’re going to want to go ahead and press play NOW because you don’t know what I went through to source that for you. If you don’t see the player that means I have failed in my mission. Please tell everyone that I love them and please enjoy listening to ESMB which is short for Ed Schrader's Music Beat.

Amen.
