Luke Abbott is another super solid electronic artist coming out of the UK (specifically Norfolk). His slow grower jams are very similar to what Gold Panda is doing. Do you like Gold Panda? I do.
Abbott has also name-checked Oneohtrix Point Never several times. And throw in Four Tet... Caribou too. So that'll give you a start to what this sound is all about.
There are a lot of different influences at play here. Abbott, a master technician, fuses together straight-up dance with everything from krautrock to lo-fi to math-y jazz to layered lushcore (just made that up) in order to grab hold of these sweet, sweet drone-y electro grooves that don't ever want to let go.
Get his latest record Holkham Drones. It's really good. And for god's sake, see this dude do his thing live. This is best experienced in the flesh. Here's hoping he comes to The States ASAP.
