BAND WE LIKE: HOST FAMILY ((lush shoegaze/indie/noise))
((Slint)) Band Profile and Upcoming Los Angeles Concerts - Oh My Rockness
Slint
The wet dream of thousands of wonderfully geeky guys and girls has become a reality. Kentucky heroes Slint have reunited. Hands down one of the most influential and legendary indie bands of all time, Slint surfaced in Louisville circa 1989 and helped define a burgeoning genre: indie rock.
The number of bands these guys influenced are too numerous to mention. Ok, I'll try: June of 44, Don Caballero, Will Oldham, Tortoise, Chavez, Shellac and Mogwai and just about any band that has been called "post-rock" or "math-rock." All this from a band that only made two proper albums. Slint was first. Slint was best. Slint is back.
