((The Duke Spirit)) Band Profile and Upcoming Los Angeles Concerts - Oh My Rockness

The Duke Spirit is a female fronted five-piece from London whose music implements the vocal stylings of PJ Harvey, the swirling symphonies of My Bloody Valentine and Jesus & March Chain, and the grimy garage rock of the Stones. Lead singer Liela Moss' (whose seductive looks have often been compared to Nico) precise pipes can be both forceful and mellow, giving the Duke Spirit's sound the added edge of versatility.

Ultimately though, The Duke Spirit are just a dirty, rock 'n' roll band, right down to its most basic elements -- guitars, drums, bass and tambourines. If you like The Kills, you'll probably like these guys more.
