BAND WE LIKE: SUN JUNKIES ((indieemogaragepunk))
((The End of the World)) Band Profile and Upcoming Los Angeles Concerts - Oh My Rockness
The End of the World
Brooklyn's The End of the World play pretty straightforward pop that reminds me of 31Knots who remind me of Crystal Skulls who remind me of Squeeze. Maybe it's just the smooth, sliding croon of singer Stefan Marolachakis that warrants these comparisons. There's nothing "hipster" about this band, no matter their locale. They just play solid songs, sans the synths and angular haircuts.
Their first full-length, You're Making it Come Alive, is a joint venture between two solid labels, Flameshovel (Make Believe, Maritime) and Pretty Activity (Vague Angels, Aloke). If these guys aren't played on the radio, there's something wrong with radio... besides everything else that's wrong with radio.
