((The Raveonettes)) Band Profile and Upcoming Los Angeles Concerts - Oh My Rockness

Denmark's duo, The Raveonettes, have swagger, sass, and sex appeal. These three S's are definitely why these guys are on a major label. The two garage rockers sound more like Jesus & Mary Chain or Sonic Youth than The Kills or The White Stripes.

Armed with sub-three minute, three chord songs sans cymbals, The Raveonettes have amassed an impressive catalog log of dark (JAMC), fuzzy (Sonic Youth) "fuck you" tracks riddled with feedback and furiously written in the key of B-flat minor. There's no delayed gratification with these guys. If you aren't into them right away, you won't ever be into them.

But as direct and ferocious as these guys are, they ultimately still play pop music. There are melodies and harmonies found within The Raveonettes garage grumblings that are pure song craft and would make even Brian Wilson smile.
