The 5 Best Shows in LA This Week
Written by Patrick McNamara
These 5 shows are the best this week. So sayeth this music blob.
Forever and Ever.
Amen.
#1. The Hotelier - The Echo - Tuesday - November 11 - 2014 A.D.
The Hotelier came all the way from Massachusetts to play super solid pop punk/punk pop songs off their exceptional debut album “Home, Like Noplace Is There” released earlier this year. (Stream the shit out of it below.) You know who’s headlining this show? The World Is A Beautiful Place & I’m No Longer Afraid To Die. But I couldn’t fit them in their headline. Because their name is long….and pretentious. Oh wells!
#2. Twin Peaks - The Observatory + The Echo - Tues/Wed - November 11/12 - 2014 A.D.
Chicago scuzz fuzz rockster popsters Twin Peaks should be experienced in the flesh. There shall be sweat, swill, perhaps some spit, maybe some blood. But don’t worry. It’s all in good fun. Go Bulls.
#3. Tame Impala + Delicate Steve - Shrine Auditorium + Wednesday - November 12 - 2014 A.D.
You’re probably considering this show because of Australian psych shredders Tame Impala. I don’t blame you. I too like bands that like Black Sabbath. But if you go, be sure to get there early for New Jersey’s Delicate Steve. IT’S A BUTTERFLY THING YOU WOULDN’T UNDERSTAND…. UNLESS YOU BLAST THIS SONG BELOW... WHEN ALL SECRETS TO BUTTERFLIES AND LIFE WILL BE REVEALED.
#4. Death From Above 1979 - The Observatory + The Regent - Thurs/Fri - November 13/14 - 2014 A.D.
These two Canadian thrash men have reunited, don’t you know. You have two chances to see them thrash around this week. After that, you just might have to wait until the next reunion circa 2023.
#5. The Pizza Underground - The Observatory + El Rey - Fri/Sat - November 14/15 - 2014 A.D.
You know Macaulay Culkin and his crew are just fucking around, right? OK. Cool. Just making sure.
