Artist We Like: Shana Cleveland

When Shana Cleveland isn't playing in her post ____ surf band La Luz (please note: they're a good band!), the Seattle based artist (she writes and draws when she's not making music) is often out on the road with her other (rotating) crew called Shana Cleveland & The Sandcastles, performing carefully crafted songs whose goodness will sneak up on you.

Think clean (mostly) acoustic songs (although sometimes Cleveland plays alongside keys and clarinets and strings and things so let's not put anybody in a box here) that take their sweet time slowly hypnotizing you. It's pop. It's folk. Sometimes it's kind of psych. And all the time it's totally good!

Cleveland released “Oh Man, Cover The Ground" for Suicide Squeeze (one of my very favorite record labels since 2000 or something) in 2015 A.D. and because it is now 2016 A.D. you can listen to the entire thing in full directly below these words (living in the future rules!) and you should. Why? Because it's good!

In the meantime be sure to see Shana Cleveland & The Sandcastles play whenever you can. And La Luz, while you're at it. They're a good band too.
