10 Good Shows To See in LA This Week

May 22 - May 28 / 2017 A.D.

1. Girlpool play Teragram Ballroom on Tuesday, May 23rd (tickets).

Have you heard Girlpool's new album 123? It's fantastic. Please listen to it at your earliest convenience.

Then go see them play fantastic songs from it on a Tuesday night.

(Snail Mail opens this show. They rule too.)

2. Hoops play The Echo on Wednesday, May 24th (tickets).

This band from Indiana play chill lo fi power pop.

Hoops are good. You should get into them.

RIYL: easy / breezy

3. Feels play Zebulon on Wednesday, May 24th (tickets).

Think punk sludge with pretty swirling psych pop melodies.

Feels rule.

4. No Parents play The Hi Hat on Thursday, May 25th (tickets).

This dope L.A. band comes highly recommended if you love the punk rock.

1-2-3-I-DO!

This should be a real fun show, yo.

5. Midnight Oil play The Wiltern on Thursday, May 25th (tickets).

Midnight Oil's first LA show in a million years!

ICYMI: these Australian rockers are from this time called the '90s.

“These should not be forgotten years."

6. Band of Horses play The Greek on Thursday, May 25th (tickets).

You miss this show and it's your funeral*, yo.

*the year 2005 just texted me / they would like their joke back

7. Brian Wilson plays Pantages Theatre on Friday, May 26th (tickets) / Saturday, May 27th (tickets).

The man / myth / legend returns to perform Pet Sounds at Pantages. Gotta go.

A. Well, I've only seen one in the last couple of years. It's called Norbit by Eddie Murphy.

8. Fartbarf play Alex's Bar on Saturday, May 27th (tickets).

Because with a name like Fartbarf it's gotta be good!

9. Janelane play Basic Flowers on Saturday, May 27th.

This L.A. band plays the best lo-fi indie doo wop pop around.

Fun Note: they were our #4 hardest-working LA band last year.

10. Modest Mouse play Fox Theater Pomona on Sunday, May 28th.

"Everything that keeps me together is falling apart!"
