Armed with one of the worst band names I've heard in a long time, Manchester, U.K.'s The Ting Tings are nevertheless starting to make a splash here across the Pond (although I think technically you have to be IN the Pond to make a splash, but semantics people, semantics) for their oh-so-catchy electro that makes the kids get up and shout, "I think I really rather like this!"

The Ting Tings are one guy (Jules De Martino on the drums and vocals) and one girl (Katie White on the more regular vocals and bass drum and guitar). Together, they make crunky-funky-dancey-grime-pop that I hear is regularly played over thrift store PAs. It sounds like Lily Allen and New Young Pony Club and Does it Offend You, Yeah? (my vote for the second worst band name in recent times) and any other band that even contemplates wearing neon shoelaces on stage. But seriously guys, you went with Ting Tings??
