The Black Ghosts get their gloomy electro-goth on.

July 21, 2008
London's The Black Ghosts are another electro-pop dance duo (Simon Lord & Theo Keating) that bring out the booty-rock. In the words of Hot Chip, these guys will definitely make you ready for the floor. You get just what you'll expect out of an electro club duo these days; big thumping beats and a whole smattering of synths combining forces purely to produce hooks, hooks and more hooks.

Like their name suggests, these guys are a little on the gloomy side, but not so much that you can call them goth. They just have hints of darkness to their melodies. There is no doubt The Black Ghosts will appeal to fans of Justice, Digitalism, The Presets and Simian Mobile Disco. In fact, Simon was the vocalist of the band Simian (in their pre-Mobile Disco days). I hear a little George Michael, too. And that's not bad at all.
