Marching Band rock the lo-fi folk. - Oh My Rockness

Band We Like

Marching Band rock the lo-fi folk.

September 2, 2008
Here's a new band to brighten your day. Sweden's Marching Band compose sunny folk pop using the standard guitar/bass/drums setup along with a multitude of non-traditional rock instruments (xylophone, marimba and vibraphone among others). All these melodic sounds serve to create a harmoniously merry mood that's just sort of relaxing.

The duo consists of pals Eric Sunbring (an entirely appropriate last name for this sound) and Jacob Lind, and while there's too much instrumentation going on to consider this lo-fi, Marching Band's songs just have that D.I.Y. lo-fi feel to them. Their debut full-length comes out summer of 2008 and was produced by Adam Lasus (he did that Clap Your Hands Say Yeah record). We think it's going to be good. For fans of Noah and the Whale, Panda Bear and The Boy Least Likely To.
