Let’s talk about the decent shows happening this week. No, let’s talk about the good ones. Wait. Forget all that. We’re here today to talk about the BEST.

These are the 5 best shows this week….. according to this music blob. You feel differently? Start your own blob, man. I’m a blob. You’re a blob. We are all just blobbing along on this choppy river called life. Forever and Ever. Amen.

#1. Smashing Pumpkins - The Fonda - Tuesday - December 16 - 2014 A.D.

This show was just announced yesterday (which, as of this writing, was yesterday). SP have a new album out. We’ve heard it. It’s not “Siamese Dream.” But it’s not “Siddhartha” either. I’d say that leaves enough wiggle room for goodness.

#2. Gothic Tropic - The Echo - Tuesday - December 16 - 2014 A.D.

We’ve been giving Gothic Tropic’s (click that) super solid post-psych-dance-pop some mad propness on this music blob since 2012, son. If you’re still not in on this party, good news, it’s not too late. It’s never too late….. until it’s too late.

#3. Weezer - The Observatory - Wednesday - December 17 - 2014 A.D.

Want to go see a band that was last good circa 18 years ago and pay $75 plus fees for the privilege? You can! Or, maybe not. This show is sold-out, you see. Big Weezer is a Big Band. But don’t let that discourage you if you're still a fan of Weezer and don’t have a ticket. Remember. Where there’s a will - there’s a pay.

#4. Fartbarf - Alex’s Bar - Saturday - December 20 - 2014 A.D.

With a name like Farbarf (click that) they gotta be good!

#5. Stevie Wonder (playing “Songs in the Key of Life”) - The Forum - Saturday - December 20 - 2014 A.D.

Never heard of him.
