The Best Shows in LA This Week: Thee Oh Sees + 2:54 + The Twilight Sad + Upset + A Place to Bury Strangers + Honeyblood + more

#1. Thee Oh Sees - Human Resources - Thursday - March 12th - 2015 A.D.
San Francisco fuzzy garage rock jingle-jangle kings Thee Oh Sees play Human Resources and this one will be a sweaty fun RAGE FEST. Also, it's only five bucks! So instead of a bunch of money, bring good vibes and plenty of that other stuff to share with your rock 'n roll brothers and sisters.
#2. 2:54 and Honeyblood - Echoplex - Thursday - March 12th - 2015 A.D.
Two good bands play this one. London's 2:54 are a sisterly shoegaze duo that sort of sounds like Sonic Youth (Kim Gordon's book is #2 on the New York Times best seller list!) meets Serena-Maneesh (remember them?) meets PJ Harvey (sure you do). Also playing are Glasgow's Honeyblood. So you should get there early to experience their crunchy sunshine fuzz pop goodness and I should mind my own business.
#3. The Twilight Sad - The Wayfarer - Thursday - March 12th - 2015 A.D.
All bands from Scotland are good. Post-punk popsters The Twilight Sad (click that if you enjoy reading six-year-old band profiles) are from Scotland. Therefore, The Twilight Sad are a good band. Don't try to argue. The science is too tight.
#4. Upset - Perhspace - Friday - March 13th - 2015 A.D.
L.A.'s own Upset feature former members of Hole + Vivian Girls + La Sera + Best Coast. And not to brag, but I've heard of all those bands. The fuzzy pop punk trio play a fundraiser for the Chicas Rockeras SELA rock 'n roll camp for girls this year.
#5. A Place to Bury Strangers - The Echo - Sunday - March 15th - 2015 A.D.
NYC's A Place to Bury Strangers are still one of the loudest bands going. Bring earplugs and nobody gets hurt. Philly punks Creepoid + L.A.'s sunshine-gaze guy Tennis System open.
