#1 Elvis Depressedly + Mitski + eskimeaux - The Echo - Thursday - July 2 - 2015 A.D.

Three good bands for one low price I love when this happens. The entire bill at The Echo tonight is 100% solid. South Carolina's Elvis Depressedly makes melancholy eccentro-pop that will make you feel better about things even though it's sad. Brooklyn's Mitski plays power shred pop that's really good live. And eskimeaux has been slinging lo-fi pop goodness since 2008, son. Go to this one.

#2 toe. - The Regent - Thursday - July 2 - 2015 A.D.

Japanese math-post-rock legends toe play The Regent and considering they came over from the OTHER SIDE OF THE WORLD to play their meandering (and completely tight) instrumental rhythms for you the least you could do is show up for it. #goodness #6years4dayswithoutMichaelJackson

#3 Television - Teragram Ballroom - Friday - July 3 - 2015 A.D.

You probably know that Television are music titans. But you may think they suck now because the '70s were quite some time ago and guitar god Richard Lloyd doesn't play with them anymore. Well, I just saw Television a few months ago and I can flat-out tell you this - THEY DO NOT SUCK NOW. Tom Verlaine is still one of the best guitar players I've ever seen and a musical god in his own right.

#4 Sannhet - The Echo - Friday - July 3 - 2015 A.D.

Brooklyn's Sannhet play beautiful brutal post rock metal. Yeah, this shreds hard and the beats can be deafening in the best way but listen closely for the pretty melodies floating above the fray too. Because they're there, man. The pretty melodies are there.

#5 The Appleseed Cast - The Echo - Sunday - July 5 - 2015 A.D.

Emo vets The Appleseed Cast celebrate their best album (in my opinion - good thing this is my blob) turning fifteen years old (!) tonight at The Echo. I'm talking about “Mare Vitalis," of course. The band is playing the whole thing - start to finish - first track to last. A classic. Here is the best song from that album. Disagree? Cool. Please tell me your thoughts in the comments section this blob has thankfully never had.
