When it's time to music blob we will music blob hard.

These are the good shows around LA this week.

This is a form letter we send to everybody who wants to read it but I hope you take it personally, man.

#1 Silversun Pickups - Hollywood Forever Cemetery - Mon/Tues/Wed - Sept 28/29/30 - 2015 A.D.

Maybe I have so many problems spelling 'cemetery' because I'm afraid of sleep. I need to remember that it's just three Es and like sleeping forever. Silversun Pickups play Hollywood Forever a few times this week and people are dying to get into this one. Quiet neighbors, though!

(let's take it back a little with this jam because we can)

#2 Disclosure - Los Angeles Sports Arena - Tuesday - September 29 - 2015 A.D.

Before Disclosure did anything Demi Moore did Michael Douglas after Michael Crichton thought it up first. But that's OK. Third is still pretty good. Dance to this band at LA Sports Arena on Tuesday. Or, go and stare at your phone the whole time. I don't really care what you do. Stream something on your couch if you want I just want you to be happy. Personally, I like listening to this band while trying on pants. RIP, Michael Crichton.

#3 Best Coast - The Observatory - Wednesday - September 30

Oh My Rockness loves Best Coast. You can love Best Coast too. You probably already do. If you don't love Best Coast I pleasantly disagree with you but it's cool it takes all flavors to make the world go round. BTW, did you see the Super Blood Moon? Crazy shit, man.

#4 Gates - The Observatory - Thursday - October 1 - 2015 A.D.

Gates is one of my favorite bands playing in the game today. They're GOOD. They open for The Dear Hunter and Chon at The Observatory on Thursday. So if you're gonna go, get there early. You should go! (This same line-up also plays on Tuesday at The Roxy. You can go to that one instead, if you want. Whatever's more convenient for you, man.)

#5 Makthaverskan - The Smell - Thursday - October 1 - 2015 A.D.

Gothenburg, Sweden's Makthaverskan is so good I totally don't mind that it takes me a few minutes to finally spell their name correctly. They play their SOLID jingle jangle at The Smell on Thursday. Looks like you've got a tough choice to make between this and Gates, two completely different bands. I like it all. You can like it all too. Don't box yourself in.

Other notable shows = Colleen Green at Hotel Figueroa + Ratatat at Mayan Theater + Peaches at Amoeba (free) + Empress Of at The Echo + DJ Krush at The Roxy + Ultimate Painting at The Satellite + Tei Shi at The Roxy + A Day in the Desert Fest
