Another solid week of dope shows in LA.

Let's talk about five of them right quick.

But there are LOTS MORE good shows this week.

Damn.

What a dope week.

#1 Alex G w/ Porches - The Echo - Tuesday - March 29 - 2016 A.D.

Philadelphia's Alex G is one of the strongest up-and-coming post ___ folk songwriters in the game and Brooklyn's Porches is one of the smoothest post ____ pop bands there currently is. A really solid 1-2 punch of goodness at The Echo on Tuesday (or see both bands at The Observatory on Thursday instead I don't care which show you see trust your #heart). Your Friend opens.

#2 Father John Misty - The Observatory - The Observatory - Thurs/Fri - March 20/31 - 2016 A.D.

Two shows at The Observatory this week for everybody's favorite parental post ___ rock 'n' roll star. Father John Misty shall save us all.

Also. On a related note. Have you ever seen the movie "Play Misty For Me?" It's spooky ____!

#3 Bleached - Amoeba Music - Friday - April 1st - 2016 A.D.

The always excellent local post _____ punk popsters, Bleached, play a FREE show at Amoeba at 5pm on Friday. You totally don't have to pay! No fooling!

#4 Car Seat Headrest - Natural History Museum of L.A. County - Friday - April 1st - 2016 A.D.

Prolific Seattle post ____ lo-fi ____ psych pop wunderkind Will Toledo (aka Car Seat Headrest) plays the Natural History Museum tonight. Have you listened to his new album (his 12th.. .and he's only 23 or something…. I told you he was prolific) on Matador? You should. It's good. No fooling!

#5 Hinds - The Echo - Friday - April 1st - 2016 A.D.

Madrid's Hinds would like to play their super solid post ____ indie pop jams for you at The Echo on Friday and considering they came all the way from Spain the least you could do is show up. Also, they're good. No fooling! Cotillon and Adult Books open. They're good too.

Other notable shows this week = CocoRosie at The Fonda Theatre (update: canceled due to illness) + The Joy Formidable at The Roxy + Cate LeBon at Hollywood Forever Cemetery + Winter at The Hi Hat + Santigold at Hollywood Palladium + Field Music at The Roxy + Into It. Over It. at Troubadour and The Observatory + All Dogs & Peach Kelli Pop & Upset & Winter Break at VHLS Warehouse + Tyler, The Creator at The Observatory
